Prayer

Prayer is direct communication with God through Jesus Christ, the central practice of Christian life where believers bring their requests, thanksgivings, and worship before the throne of grace.

Overview

Prayer is the believer's privilege and responsibility to speak directly to God the Father through Christ. Jesus taught His disciples to pray with faith, persistence, and alignment with God's will. Prayer encompasses petition, intercession, thanksgiving, and worship, and God promises to hear and answer those who come to Him in faith through Christ.

Key Scriptures

"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you" (Matthew 7:7, ESV). "If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it" (John 14:14, ESV). "And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us" (1 John 5:14, ESV).

Application

Establish a consistent prayer life, bringing your genuine needs and concerns before God with confidence in His willingness and ability to answer according to His perfect will.
