Resignation

Resignation is the spiritual grace of accepting God's will with faith and submission, even when facing difficult circumstances or the removal of what we hold dear.

Overview

Biblical resignation is not passive defeat but active trust in God's sovereignty and goodness. It involves surrendering our will to His, accepting both loss and hardship as part of His plan. This posture of the heart reflects deep faith that God's purposes are higher than our understanding.

"And Aaron held his peace" (Leviticus 10:3, ESV)—Aaron's silent acceptance after God's judgment shows true resignation. Jesus prayed, "My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will" (Matthew 26:39, ESV).
