Poor, the

Overview

The Bible consistently calls believers to defend and assist the poor. Jesus taught that how we treat the vulnerable directly reflects our relationship with Him, while the prophets condemned those who exploited or ignored the needy. True faith demonstrates itself through tangible care for the poor.

"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink.'" (Matthew 25:41-42, ESV)
