Pardon

Pardon is God's gracious forgiveness of sin through Christ, freely offered to all who repent and believe. It encompasses the complete removal of guilt and the restoration of our relationship with God.

Overview

Biblical pardon is God's sovereign act of forgiving sin and removing its penalty through the work of Christ. Pardon is not earned by human effort but received through faith, and it restores sinners to fellowship with God. The gospel proclaims that pardon is available to all who turn from sin and trust in Jesus.

Key Scriptures

"Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon" (Isaiah 55:7, ESV).

"But where sin increased, grace abounded all the more" (Romans 5:20, ESV).

"In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace" (Ephesians 1:7, ESV).

Application

If you have repented of your sins and believed in Christ, rest assured that God's pardon is complete and covers all your transgressions—both past and present.
