Missions

Missions is the intentional proclamation of God's Word to people groups, calling them to repentance and faith in Christ. Scripture demonstrates that spreading the Gospel to all nations is both a divine mandate and the means by which God's glory is made known throughout the earth.

Overview

God's heart for missions is evident throughout Scripture. He desires that His name be declared among all peoples and that salvation be made known to the ends of the earth. Effective missions involves sending faithful messengers to proclaim God's Word with clarity and urgency, trusting that the Holy Spirit will convict hearts and produce repentance.

Key Scriptures

"Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples!" (1 Chronicles 16:24, ESV). "Then the Lord said to him, 'Go, display your concern for the great city Nineveh and be willing to go there.' So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh according to the word of the Lord" (Jonah 3:2-3, NASB). "Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth, everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory" (Isaiah 43:6-7, NIV).

Application

Pray for and support missionaries who faithfully proclaim God's Word to unreached peoples, and consider how the Lord may be calling you to participate in His global mission.
