Overview
The Reubenites, along with the Gadites and half-tribe of Manasseh, requested and received their inheritance on the eastern side of the Jordan River due to the suitability of that land for their large livestock (Numbers 32). Though separated from the western tribes, the Reubenites demonstrated remarkable faithfulness and unity with Israel during the conquest of Canaan under Joshua's leadership.
Key Scriptures
"Joshua said to the Reubenites, Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh, 'Remember the command that Moses the servant of the Lord gave you: The Lord your God is giving you rest and has granted you this land'" (Joshua 1:12-13, NIV).
"But you are to help them until the Lord gives them rest, just as he has given you rest, and until they too have taken possession of the land the Lord your God is giving them" (Joshua 1:15, NIV).
Application
Like the Reubenites, believers should demonstrate loyalty to God's people and support fellow Christians in their spiritual battles, regardless of physical distance or different circumstances.
