Judgment

God's judgment is righteous and individual, weighing each person's actions and choices according to His holy standard. Repentance and obedience determine our standing before Him.

Overview

Scripture reveals that God judges with perfect justice, examining the hearts and actions of all people. Each individual bears responsibility for their own choices, and God's judgment cannot be escaped or appealed. However, His judgment is tempered with mercy toward those who repent and turn from their sin.

Key Scriptures

"If I have despised the cause of my male or female servant, when they brought a complaint against me, what then shall I do when God rises up? When he makes inquiry, what shall I answer him? Did not he who made me in the womb make him? And did not one fashion us in the womb?" (Job 31:13-15, ESV)

"The Mighty One, God the LORD, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to the place where it sets" (Psalm 50:1, NIV). "Our God comes and will not be silent" (Psalm 50:3, NIV).

"The soul who sins is the one who will die" (Ezekiel 18:20, NIV), yet "if the wicked turn from all the sins they have committed...they will surely live" (Ezekiel 18:21, NIV).

Application

Live with the awareness that God sees all and judges justly, while embracing the grace available through repentance and faith in Christ.
