Amminadab lived during the Exodus generation. His son Nahshon was the tribal prince who first stepped into the Red Sea before it parted. His daughter Elisheba married Aaron the High Priest. The Ark of the Covenant was kept at his son’s house for twenty years after being returned by the Philistines. Amminadab appears in both genealogies of Jesus: Matthew’s royal line and Luke’s blood line. His name means “my people are willing” or “prince of the people.”
