Righteousness Imputed

Righteousness imputed is God's act of crediting Christ's perfect righteousness to believers through faith alone, declaring them legally righteous before Him. This is the heart of justification and the foundation of the gospel.

Overview

Imputed righteousness means that God transfers or credits Christ's righteousness to believers' accounts. This is not righteousness we achieve or earn, but rather God's gift received through faith in Christ. Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness (Romans 4:3), establishing the pattern for all who trust Christ as Savior.
