Overview
Throughout Scripture, mountains are significant locations where God meets with His people. From Moses encountering God at Mount Sinai to Jesus ascending mountains for prayer and revelation, these high places symbolize drawing near to heaven and experiencing God's presence. Mountains often become sanctuaries for prayer, worship, and receiving divine instruction.

"Now Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God" (Exodus 3:12, ESV).
