Moses

Moses was God's chosen leader and mediator who delivered Israel from Egypt and received the Law at Mount Sinai, serving as a faithful servant in God's house and a type of Christ.

Overview

Moses stands as one of Scripture's greatest leaders, called by God to liberate Israel from Egyptian bondage and establish them as God's covenant people. He received the Ten Commandments at Mount Sinai and mediated God's law to the nation. Numbers 12:7 affirms that "Moses is faithful in all My house" (NASB), distinguishing him as uniquely trustworthy in God's service.

Key Scriptures

"The Lord said to him, 'Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the Lord?' Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall speak" (Exodus 4:11-12, ESV).

"Thus the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend" (Exodus 33:11, NASB).

"This is that Moses who said to the children of Israel, 'The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren'" (Acts 7:37, NKJV).

Application

Examine how God equips ordinary people with His presence and power to accomplish His purposes, and recognize Moses as a shadow pointing to Christ's role as mediator between God and His people.
