Grace of God

God's grace is His unmerited favor toward sinners, freely given through Christ without regard to human worthiness or works. It is the foundation of salvation and the Christian life.

Overview

Grace is God's divine favor bestowed on humanity not because of merit but purely from His loving character. The Old Testament reveals God's gracious election of Israel, while the New Testament unveils grace fully accomplished through Jesus Christ's redemptive work. Grace is both God's initiative toward us and the enabling power for Christian living.

Key Scriptures

"The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession" (Deuteronomy 7:6, NIV). "It was not because you were more numerous than other peoples that the Lord chose you...but it was because the Lord loved you" (Deuteronomy 7:7-8, ESV). "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them" (John 6:44, NIV).

Application

Embrace the truth that your salvation rests entirely on God's grace through Christ, freeing you from the futility of earning God's favor through personal effort.
