Overview
Shealtiel (also spelled Salathiel) was the son of Jeconiah and lived during the Jewish exile and return from Babylon. He served as governor of Judah and is prominently featured in the books of Ezra and Haggai, where he worked alongside Zerubbabel to encourage the people to rebuild the temple of God. His faithful leadership during a difficult period of restoration demonstrates God's faithfulness to His covenant people.
