Amnon

The firstborn son of King David, who committed a heinous crime against his half-sister Tamar and was later murdered by her full brother Absalom.

Amnon became obsessed with his beautiful half-sister Tamar (daughter of David and Maacah). Following his cousin Jonadab’s advice, he pretended to be ill and asked David to send Tamar to cook for him. Once alone, he forced her, then immediately hated her and had her thrown out. Tamar tore her royal robe and lived desolate in her brother Absalom’s house. Absalom waited two years, then had his servants kill Amnon at a sheep-shearing feast. David mourned deeply.
