Azaziah

A Levite musician appointed by King David to play the harp during the transportation of the Ark of the Covenant.

Azaziah was a skilled Levite musician who served under the musical leaders Heman, Asaph, and Ethan. He was chosen specifically to play the harp (or lyre) at the ceremony when David brought the Ark from Obed-Edom's house to Jerusalem. His role was part of David's organization of Temple worship. The name appears in genealogical records of the Levites who served before the Ark and later in the permanent Temple structure.
