Azur's son Hananiah publicly prophesied in the Temple that God would break the yoke of Babylon within two years. Jeremiah wore a wooden yoke as a symbol of submission, and Hananiah broke it, declaring God had broken Nebuchadnezzar's yoke. Jeremiah responded that Hananiah had broken a wooden yoke but would see an iron yoke. Within two months, Hananiah died as Jeremiah predicted. Azur is only known as Hananiah's father, but his son's false prophecy caused significant damage.
