Overview
Kedar, a son of Ishmael (Genesis 25:13), represents the Arab peoples throughout Scripture. The prophets foretell a future day when Kedar and the surrounding nations will turn to the Lord and acknowledge His glory, fulfilling God's covenant promise to Abraham that all families of the earth would be blessed through his seed.
Key Scriptures
"The glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together" (Isaiah 40:5, ESV). "All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered to you; the rams of Nebaioth shall serve you" (Isaiah 60:7, ESV). "Declare among the nations and proclaim; set up a banner and proclaim, conceal it not" (Jeremiah 50:2, ESV).
Application
Pray for Arab and Muslim-background peoples to encounter Jesus Christ and experience the redemption promised to all nations through the Gospel.
