Injustice

God abhors injustice and commands His people to pursue fairness, protect the vulnerable, and refuse to pervert justice for any reason. The Bible repeatedly warns against partiality, false witness, and exploitation of the weak.

Overview

Throughout Scripture, God demonstrates His hatred of injustice and calls His people to be advocates for the oppressed. He prohibits favoritism in judgment, demands honest dealings, and explicitly protects widows, strangers, and the poor from exploitation. Justice is not optional for believers but a core reflection of God's character.

Key Scriptures

"You shall not wrong a stranger or oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt" (Exodus 22:21, ESV). "You shall not follow a multitude to do evil, nor shall you bear witness in a lawsuit, siding with the multitude, so as to pervert justice" (Exodus 23:2, ESV). "Justice, and only justice, you shall follow, that you may live and inherit the land that the Lord your God is giving you" (Deuteronomy 16:20, ESV).

Application

Examine your own decisions and advocacy: Do you stand for fairness regardless of personal cost, or do you compromise truth to fit in with others' opinions?
