Overview
Potiphera served as priest of On (Heliopolis), one of Egypt's most significant religious centers. When Pharaoh elevated Joseph to power, he gave Joseph Asenath, Potiphera's daughter, as his wife. This strategic marriage integrated Joseph into the Egyptian elite and legitimized his authority in the land.
