Overview
Neiel was a city located within the inheritance of the tribe of Asher during the conquest and division of Canaan. It appears in the boundary descriptions of Asher's territorial allotment and represents one of many towns distributed among God's people as they settled the Promised Land.
Key Scriptures
"The boundary of Asher ran from Helkath and Hali and Beten and Akshaph, and Allammelech and Amad and Mishal. On the west it touches Carmel and Shihor-libnath. Then it turns eastward, it goes to Beth-dagon, and touches Zebulun and the Valley of Iphtahel northward to Beth-emek and Neiel. Then it continues in the north to Cabul" (Joshua 19:25-27, ESV).
Application
Neiel reminds us that God's promises to His people are detailed and real, affecting actual places and populations, affirming the historical reliability of Scripture.
