Overview
Jahaz (also spelled Jahzah) was a fortified city located in the land of Moab, east of the Jordan River. It was designated as a Levitical city and a city of refuge, serving the spiritual and legal needs of the eastern tribes. The city is most remembered as the site of Israel's decisive victory over King Sihon of the Amorites during their wilderness journey.
