Overview
Naarah appears in the genealogical account of Judah's descendants during the Old Testament period. She was married to Ashur and bore him children who became part of Judah's tribal heritage. Though briefly mentioned, her inclusion in Scripture's genealogies affirms the importance God places on family lines and the contributions of women in Israel's history.
Key Scriptures
"Ashur fathered Tekoa and two wives, Helah and Naarah. Naarah bore him Ahuzzam, Hepher, Temeni, and Haahashtari. These were the sons of Naarah." (1 Chronicles 4:5-6, ESV)
Application
While Naarah's life is recorded only briefly in Scripture, her example reminds us that God values and remembers all generations and family lines, encouraging us to see our own roles in God's redemptive history as meaningful and significant.
