Overview
The Bible presents Christian liberty as deliverance from spiritual slavery. Before Christ, believers were held in bondage under the law and the elemental principles of the world. Through Christ's redemptive work, Christians are set free to serve God in genuine faith and love, no longer enslaved by legalistic observance but empowered by the Holy Spirit.
Key Scriptures
"Now I say, that the heir, as long as he is a child, differs nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all" (Galatians 4:1, KJV). "But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons" (Galatians 4:4-5, KJV). "And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you" (Leviticus 25:10, KJV).
Application
Believers should exercise Christian freedom responsibly, using liberty not as license for sin but as opportunity to love God and serve others in Christ.
