Lazarus

Lazarus was a friend of Jesus who died and was raised from the dead after four days, demonstrating Jesus's power over death and His identity as the resurrection and the life.

Overview

Lazarus of Bethany was the brother of Mary and Martha, beloved by Jesus. When Lazarus fell gravely ill, his sisters sent word to Jesus, but He delayed His arrival until after Lazarus had died and been in the tomb four days. Jesus then performed one of His greatest miracles by calling Lazarus forth from death, powerfully demonstrating His deity and authority over death itself.
