Hatred to Christ

The world's hatred toward Christ and His kingdom reveals the spiritual opposition to His lordship, yet believers must remain faithful despite persecution and rejection. This hatred carries serious eternal consequences for those who reject Christ and trample His sacrifice underfoot.

Overview

Jesus taught that His return would be rejected by those who refused His rule. The parable of the ten minas illustrates how citizens hate their king and send a delegation saying, 'We do not want this man to reign over us' (Luke 19:14). This enmity toward Christ stems from spiritual darkness and represents humanity's rebellion against God's authority.

Key Scriptures

'How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?' (Hebrews 10:29, NIV)

'For we know him who said, "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," and again, "The Lord will judge his people." It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God' (Hebrews 10:30-31, NIV).

Application

When facing rejection for your faith in Christ, remember that opposition to the gospel is ultimately opposition to Christ Himself, and God will vindicate His kingdom.
