Overview
Talmai was an Anakim giant associated with Hebron during the conquest of Canaan. Numbers 13:22 records that when the Israelite spies explored Canaan, "they came to Hebron, where Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the descendants of Anak, were living." These giants represented formidable obstacles to Israel's possession of the promised land. Additionally, Talmai appears in the genealogies as father of Maacah, who became the mother of Absalom through David (2 Samuel 3:3, 1 Chronicles 3:2).
