Overview
Moab originated from Lot's incestuous relationship with his daughter after the destruction of Sodom (Genesis 19:37). Throughout Israel's history, Moab alternated between hostility and cooperation with God's people, yet God demonstrated mercy even toward this nation, as exemplified in the story of Ruth the Moabitess who became an ancestor of King David and ultimately of Christ.

Application
Remember that God's grace extends beyond national and ethnic boundaries, and that He can bring blessing and redemption even through those considered outsiders to His covenant people.
