Overview
Ephraim held significant prominence in Israel's history, with the tribe eventually becoming so influential that 'Ephraim' sometimes referred to the entire northern kingdom. The Forest of Ephraim mentioned in 2 Samuel 18 was the site of a devastating battle where David's forces defeated Absalom's rebellion, resulting in heavy casualties and Absalom's tragic death.
