Overview
Stewardship in Scripture refers to the management and care of resources, households, or responsibilities given by a master or authority figure. Whether overseeing a household, managing finances, or administering spiritual gifts, stewards are called to faithfulness and integrity. This concept extends beyond servants to all believers, who are stewards of God's creation, time, talents, and truth.
Key Scriptures
"Abram said, 'O Lord God, what will you give me, for I continue childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?'" (Genesis 15:2, ESV). "And he said to them, 'It is because the Lord loves you, and because he would keep the oath that he swore to your fathers, that the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery'" (Genesis 43:19, NIV). "'Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his master has set over his household to give them their food at the proper time?'" (Matthew 24:45, ESV).
