Overview
Sergius Paulus served as the proconsul (governor) of Cyprus during Paul's first missionary journey. Though he initially sought to hear God's Word, he was opposed by Elymas the sorcerer. When Paul rebuked Elymas and God struck him with blindness, Sergius Paulus believed in the Lord, witnessing firsthand the power of the gospel.
Key Scriptures

"Then Saul, who also is called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked intently at him and said, 'You who are full of all deceit and fraud, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease to make crooked the straight ways of the Lord?'" (Acts 13:9-10, NASB).
"And when the proconsul saw what had happened, he believed, being amazed at the teaching of the Lord" (Acts 13:12, NASB).
Application
