Pi-Hahiroth

Pi-Hahiroth was a location in Egypt near the Red Sea where the Israelites camped before crossing, and where Pharaoh's army pursued them. It marks a crucial moment in God's deliverance of His people from Egyptian bondage.

Overview

Pi-Hahiroth, located between Migdol and the sea, was the final encampment of the Israelites in Egypt before their miraculous crossing of the Red Sea. This strategic location became the site of God's greatest deliverance miracle, where Pharaoh's entire army was destroyed as the waters returned upon them.

Key Scriptures

"Tell the people of Israel to turn back and encamp in front of Pi-hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, in front of Baal-zephon; you shall encamp facing it, by the sea" (Exodus 14:2, ESV).

"When Pharaoh drew near, the people of Israel cried out to the Lord" (Exodus 14:10, ESV).
