Zephathah

Zephathah was a valley in Judah where King Asa's army defeated the vast Ethiopian forces under Zerah, demonstrating God's faithfulness to those who trust in Him.

Overview

Zephathah is a valley mentioned in 2 Chronicles 14 as the location of a significant military victory during King Asa's reign in Judah. When the Ethiopian king Zerah invaded with an enormous army, King Asa led the Judahite forces to this valley where God granted a miraculous defeat of the enemy forces.

Key Scriptures

"So Asa and the people who were with him cried out to the LORD their God, and the LORD defeated the Ethiopians before Asa and before Judah, and the Ethiopians fled" (2 Chronicles 14:12, ESV).

"And Asa and the people that were with him pursued them unto Mareshah: and the LORD smote the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled" (2 Chronicles 14:13, KJV).

Application

The victory at Zephathah reminds us that trusting God in overwhelming circumstances and calling upon Him in prayer results in His supernatural protection and deliverance.
