Overview
Naboth refused to sell his ancestral vineyard to King Ahab, citing God's law regarding inherited property (1 Kings 21:3). Queen Jezebel orchestrated false accusations against Naboth, resulting in his execution and the seizure of his vineyard. God's judgment came swiftly upon the royal house through the hand of Jehu.
Key Scriptures
"So Jehu rode in a chariot and went to Jezreel, for Joram lay there. And Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to visit Joram. And the watchman standing on the tower in Jezreel saw the company of Jehu as he came and said, 'I see a company.' And Joram said, 'Take a horseman and send to meet them, and let him say, "Is it peace?"'" (2 Kings 9:21, ESV). "When Jehu came to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it. And she painted her eyes and adorned her head and looked out of the window" (2 Kings 9:30, ESV).
Application
Believers should trust God to defend their rights rather than compromise integrity, knowing He ultimately judges all injustice.
