Overview
Mnason was a Cypriot believer and one of the early disciples of Christ. When Paul traveled to Jerusalem for the final time, Mnason opened his home and provided lodging for the apostle and his traveling companions. His actions demonstrate the importance of Christian hospitality and support for ministry leaders in the New Testament church.
Key Scriptures
"When we had come to Jerusalem, the brothers received us gladly. The next day Paul went in with us to James, and all the elders were present. And when he had greeted them, he recounted one by one the things that God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry" (Acts 21:17-19, ESV).
"We came to Caesarea, and we entered the house of Philip the evangelist, who was one of the seven, and stayed with him" (Acts 21:8, ESV). Mnason provided similar hospitality on the journey to Jerusalem (Acts 21:16).
Application
Believers today should follow Mnason's example by offering generous hospitality to ministry leaders and visiting Christians, recognizing this as service to Christ Himself.
