Overview
Luke wrote his Gospel as a methodical historian, having investigated all things carefully from eyewitness accounts to present an orderly narrative of Jesus's earthly ministry. His stated purpose was to give Theophilus (and all believers) certainty concerning the things he had been taught about Christ. Luke's companion work, the Acts of the Apostles, continues the account of what Jesus began to do and teach through His Church.
