Overview
The Law of God encompasses His moral requirements revealed throughout Scripture, climaxing in the Ten Commandments. Jesus summarized all the law and prophets in two commandments: loving God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and loving your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:37-40). The law is holy and good, yet exposes human sinfulness and inability to earn God's favor through works.
Key Scriptures
"Jesus said to him, 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets" (Matthew 22:37-40, NKJV).
"Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned" (Romans 5:12, NKJV).
Application
Recognize that the law reveals your need for Christ's grace; obey God's commands not for salvation but as a grateful response to redemption through Jesus.
