Overview
Gerar was a city in the land of the Philistines where Isaac fled during a famine, following his father Abraham's example of seeking refuge there. While in Gerar, Isaac experienced conflict with the local inhabitants over water rights, yet God continually blessed him with abundance and ultimately established His covenant with him in that place.
