Gentiles

Gentiles are non-Jewish people to whom God's grace and salvation are freely offered through Jesus Christ. The New Testament reveals God's inclusive plan to bring all nations into His kingdom.

Overview

Throughout Scripture, God demonstrates His heart for all nations and peoples. While the Old Testament focused on God's covenant with Israel, the New Testament reveals that the gospel is for every person regardless of ethnicity or background. Peter's vision in Acts 10 marks a pivotal moment where the apostles understood that God accepts Gentiles on equal footing with Jews through faith in Christ.

Key Scriptures

"Then Peter opened his mouth and said: 'Truly I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.'" (Acts 10:34-35, ESV)

"And he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one appointed by God to be judge of the living and the dead. To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name." (Acts 10:42-43, ESV)

Application

Remember that the gospel transcends all cultural, ethnic, and national boundaries—Jesus died for people from every nation and calls us to share His love with all people.
