Overview
Eve was created by God as a companion and helper for Adam, sharing equally in God's image and His command to steward creation. She was the first woman and became the mother of all living people. Her choice to eat the forbidden fruit resulted in humanity's fall into sin, yet God promised that her offspring would ultimately defeat Satan.
Key Scriptures
"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them" (Genesis 1:27, ESV).
"Then the Lord God said, 'It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him'" (Genesis 2:18, ESV).
"And Adam called his wife's name Eve, because she was the mother of all living" (Genesis 3:20, ESV).
Application
Recognize that all people bear God's image regardless of gender, and understand that temptation often appears attractive but leads to spiritual death.
