En-Gannim

En-Gannim (meaning 'Spring of Gardens') was a city in the tribal territory of Issachar that was designated as a Levitical city for priests and their families. It later became known as Jenin in the West Bank region.

Overview

En-Gannim was one of the forty-eight Levitical cities appointed by God for the priests and Levites who served in the tabernacle and temple. Located in Issachar's inheritance, it provided a spiritual center within Israel's tribal structure, demonstrating God's provision for those dedicated to His service.

Key Scriptures

"These were the towns assigned to the rest of the Kohathites, clan by clan" (Joshua 21:20, ESV).
