Overview

Zerubbabel (also spelled Zorobabel) was the grandson of Jehoiachin and a leader of the Jews who returned from Babylonian captivity around 538 BC. He played a crucial role in reconstructing the temple in Jerusalem and served as governor of Judah under Persian rule. His faithful leadership demonstrated God's faithfulness to His covenant promises despite the exile.
