Overview

Zophai (also spelled Zuph) was a Levite who served during the reign of King David. He is recorded in the genealogies of the Kohathite family, which was one of the three main divisions of the Levites. The Kohathites were entrusted with caring for the most sacred items of the tabernacle, including the ark of the covenant, the table of showbread, and the golden lampstand.
