Overview
Zebudah was the wife of King Amon and mother of King Josiah of Judah. She lived during the 7th century BC, a tumultuous period in Judah's history marked by idolatry and periodic religious reforms. Though her biblical mention is minimal, she is part of the genealogical record documenting Judah's royal line.

"Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jedidah, the daughter of Adaiah of Bozkath." (2 Kings 22:1, ESV). Note: 2 Kings 23:36 mentions Zebudah as mother of Jehoiakim: "Jehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem.
