Overview
Palti son of Raphu was selected by Moses as one of twelve representatives to spy out the Promised Land during Israel's wilderness wandering. He represented the tribe of Benjamin and participated in the forty-day reconnaissance mission into Canaan, returning with the other spies to report their findings to the congregation.
Key Scriptures
"From the tribe of Benjamin, Palti the son of Raphu" (Numbers 13:9, ESV).
"These are the names of the men whom Moses sent to spy out the land" (Numbers 13:16, NASB).
"So they went up and spied out the land from the wilderness of Zin to Rehob, near the entrance of Hamath" (Numbers 13:21, NIV).
Application
Palti's selection reminds us that God calls ordinary believers to witness His faithfulness and report His works to others, whether the circumstances seem favorable or challenging.
