23 scripture references across 3 subtopics — Nave's Topical Bible

Overview

Nebuchadnezzar ruled Babylon during a critical period when God used him to execute judgment on Judah and neighboring nations. Though a pagan king, he served as the Lord's tool for discipline, and eventually came to recognize God's supremacy over all earthly kingdoms.

Key Scriptures

"But any nation that serves him with its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon and serves him, I will leave on its own land to work it and to dwell in it, declares the Lord." (Jeremiah 27:11, ESV)

"I have made the earth, the man and the beasts that are on the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and I give it to whom it seems right to me. And now I have given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant." (Jeremiah 27:5-6, ESV)

Application

Recognize that God sovereignly uses even unbelieving leaders to accomplish His purposes and discipline His people, teaching us to trust His ultimate control over history.
