Overview
Neapolis served as the primary seaport for Philippi in ancient Macedonia (modern-day Greece). Paul and his missionary team arrived at this coastal city after receiving the Macedonian vision, making it the first European city to receive the apostolic gospel. From Neapolis, they traveled inland to Philippi, where significant events unfolded including the conversion of Lydia and the Philippian jailer.
Key Scriptures
"From there we put out to sea and sailed straight for Samothrace, and the next day on to Neapolis" (Acts 16:11, NIV).
"During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him, 'Come over to Macedonia and help us.' After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them" (Acts 16:9-10, NIV).
Application
