Mahalah

0 scripture references — Nave's Topical Bible

Overview

Mahalalel was the fourth generation from Adam, living 895 years before the flood. He continued the line of Seth and represents the faithful remnant who 'walked with God' during humanity's earliest period. His life bridges the gap between Enoch (who was taken to heaven without dying) and Noah.

Key Scriptures

"When Mahalalel had lived 65 years, he fathered Jared. Mahalalel lived after he fathered Jared 830 years and had other sons and daughters. Thus all the days of Mahalalel were 895 years, and he died." (Genesis 5:15-17, ESV)

"Enosh lived 90 years and fathered Kenan... And Mahalalel lived 65 years and fathered Jared." (Genesis 5:9-15, NASB)

Application

Mahalalel's lengthy life and godly lineage remind us that faithfulness to God spans generations and that our spiritual legacy impacts those who follow us.
