Overview
Kibzaim was one of the cities given to the Kohathite Levites in the inheritance of Dan (Joshua 21:22). As a Levitical city, it provided housing for priests who served in God's temple and functioned as a city of refuge where someone who accidentally caused death could flee for protection from the avenger of blood.

"The cities assigned to the Kohathite clans of the Levites were: in the territory of Dan, Eltekeh, Gibbethon, Aijalon and Gath Rimmon, together with their pasturelands—four cities" (Joshua 21:20-21, NIV).
