Overview

Kedemoth (meaning "eastern parts") was a city in the Moabite region east of the Jordan River, designated as a Levitical city for the tribe of Reuben. It served as an important location where Moses delivered his final addresses to Israel, preparing them spiritually for conquest and covenant obedience.

Key Scriptures

"From the wilderness of Kedemoth I sent messengers to Sihon king of Heshbon with words of peace" (Deuteronomy 2:26, ESV).

"And from there they journeyed to Kedemoth" (Numbers 21:22, NASB).

"And out of the tribe of Reuben, Kedemoth with its pasture lands" (Joshua 21:37, NIV).

Application

Kedemoth reminds believers that God provides strategic places of instruction and preparation where His people can align themselves with His purposes before facing new challenges and opportunities.
