Jabneel

0 scripture references — Nave's Topical Bible

Overview

Jabneel appears in the Bible as a border city in the territory of Judah (Joshua 15:11). After the Roman destruction of the Second Temple in 70 AD, the city became a center of Jewish learning where the Sanhedrin reconvened, preserving rabbinic tradition and ultimately solidifying the Old Testament canon.

Key Scriptures

"The boundary went out toward the sea and Meribbaah, then the boundary went around to Jabneel" (Joshua 15:11, ESV). Though Scripture doesn't detail Jabneel's later significance, it demonstrates God's faithful preservation: "So the word of the LORD came to pass which He spoke through His servant Isaiah" (2 Kings 19:32, NASB).

Application

Trust that God preserves His Word and people through every historical trial, knowing that earthly upheaval cannot thwart His eternal purposes.
